Born and raised between Brooklyn and Queens, NYC, Sydney Lowe is a creative producer & photographer passionate about bringing inclusive, interesting and untold stories to life.
As a producer, Sydney has collaborated with writers, creative directors, editors & cinematographers to create original video content for international HBO marketing campaigns (Game of Thrones, GIRLS, Boardwalk Empire & The Jinx ), and for the 2015 Kate Spade #MissAdventure branded content films, directed by Marielle Heller starring Anna Kendrick, Zosia Mamet & feminist icon Gloria Steinem. She has worked as Producer's Assistant to Show Creator & Executive Producer Issa Rae on the Golden Globes & Emmy nominated HBO comedy, Insecure and is Associate Producer on the Refinery29 Shatterbox & TNT short film, X, directed by Yara Shahidi.
Most recently, she is Associate Producer on the award-winning A24 + Plan B feature film The Last Black Man in San Francisco (Sundance Special Grand Jury Prize winner for Best Director and Creative Collaboration). Sydney has also worked as Development Script Reader for the Sundance Institute Labs and the Sesame Street Writers’ Room Fellowship. She is a 2019 Film Independent Project Involve Creative Fellow and a 2019 inaugural TIME'S UP Entertainment "Who's in the Room" Creative Producer Mentee.
As a photographer, her pictures have been published in PhotoVogue Italia, Refinery29, Nylon.com, Indiewire, NPR, Spotify, Buzzfeed, A24 Notes, Deadline Hollywood, Negative Feedback and Frommer's Travel Guide, as well as featured internationally in galleries and exhibition spaces in Italy, Mexico, San Francisco and New York. She is content contributor to the PhotoVogue Art & Commerce collection and active member of Women In Film, The Moth, Film Independent and The Young Literati. Sydney is also founder of ART GIRL ARMY, an art collective of diverse female-identifying, transgender, gender-non conforming creatives who unapologetically believe in their work, in themselves and in each other (featured in Teen Vogue, New York Magazine's The Cut, and Artsy.net)
Sydney holds a double B.A. in Visual Studies and Italian Studies from Wesleyan University. She currently lives in Los Angeles, but is forever a New Yorker at heart.
